Remi

A wearable audio device for space travelers.

Future of Travel

50 years from now, some of us will be travelling to nearby planets and space stations. We will need wearable devices to monitor and assist our travels

Auditory Calming

Closing your eyes and listening to sound can greatly reduce stress and fear. I decided to focus on sound as a way to calm space travelers.

Anxiety and fear is felt throughout the body. People often rub at their temples to calm down. This point of contact can relieve the stress and tension.

Surface Texture Generation

For the surface texture, I decided to use something very familiar and reminiscent of earth: water. I generated different patterns in Rhino Grasshopper.

Model Making

In order to propperly show the material and surface of Remi, I used resin printing. This process took some time to master, but ultimately resulted in the final model having the right CMF.
